Report a safeguarding concern or wrongdoing

If something we do, or someone connected to our work, is putting a person at risk or falling short of our standards, tell us. You can do it without giving your name.

If someone is in immediate danger, do not start here

Contact your local emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for emergency help, and we cannot respond at emergency speed. Once anyone at immediate risk is safe, please also tell us so we can act on our side.

What to report

What this channel is for

You do not need proof, and you do not need to be certain. If something concerns you, that is enough reason to report it.

  • Harm, or risk of harm, to a child or young person in any of our programmes
  • Harm, or risk of harm, to an adult at risk
  • Conduct by staff, volunteers, mentors or partners that breaches our standards
  • Financial wrongdoing, fraud, or misuse of grants and donations
  • Misuse of personal data, or a breach of privacy
  • Anything else you believe we need to know about

What happens next

How we handle what you tell us

  1. 01 Your report is recorded with a reference and seen only by the people responsible for handling concerns.
  2. 02 If you left contact details and asked to be contacted, we acknowledge your report and tell you who is handling it.
  3. 03 We look into what you have told us, and involve external authorities where the concern requires it.
  4. 04 Where we can, we tell you the outcome. Some details may be withheld to protect other people involved.

No one will be penalised for raising a concern in good faith. That applies to staff, volunteers, mentors, partners and community members alike, and it applies even if the concern turns out to be mistaken.

Tell us what happened

Share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. A partial report is better than no report.

About you

All of this is optional. Leaving your details lets us come back with questions and tell you the outcome, but a report without them is still acted on.

We handle reports confidentially. See our Privacy.
